Now that you know our Rules of Four, you will understand that even if we arrive to camp just in time for sunset and the place is disappointing, we can’t actually leave–we just have to suck it up. It was Friday night in Sedona, a popular place this time of year and our options for first-come-first-camped sites at the end of an action packed cycling day were thin. Yesterday evening, as we parked up in a new place I said, “Well it’s not the best place we’ve ever camped but it’s certainly not the worst.” The site wasn’t much. It was basically a washed out dirt road that we couldn’t traverse given our low clearance and tubby rig size. We pulled in amongst some shrubby trees, made supper, and went to bed.
Having rated the site fairly low on our league table, I have to take it all back. After we finished our breakfast the next morning, this is what happened.
